Outdoor Cooking for kids

The summers are always fun. And this summer, became more significant as the YMCA / JCC held a Camp Wolf Creek Summer Culinary. The activity of one week is led by Diana Jacobson, program manager of the family. She was supported by a highly qualified staff. Jacobson also shared that the day camp addresses the issue of safety in the kitchen as well as subjects like math and social sciences and grace and label. The children were participants and divided into two groups. Children ages 6 to 12 belonged to a group and children aged 10 to 15 years of age belonged to another.

During the first session with the instructor Amy Tanner, taught children the importance of cleanliness – not only with being, but also the cooking process. Nine girls and a boy as his young chefs, Amy instructor demonstrated the proper way to wash your hands with warm water and soap. And then that, she taught them about putting on the net to keep their hair from her eyes and prepared foods.

The organizers made sure that they to do the daily activities of interest to children, so Jacobson made a point that they and cook different recipes every day. A day in the camp was devoted to cook sugar cookies with the chocolate candy as filler, which was something very nice for the kids. Mix the ingredients and stir the mixture into glasses. And in the second day, blocks were prepared in bags.

The third day was a special day because it was the day of cooking outdoors. Organizers built a bonfire feels more outdoors. It was a fun-filled day as children had the opportunity to cook your marshmallows and hot dogs. Mrs. Tanner and one day camp director Sarah Maidon discussed and demonstrated fire safety for children.

Day four is about being healthy. Healthy subject was compared with unhealthy couch potato in front of outdoor exercise. And the children made "Worms in Dirt" and "Ants on a Log", as its activity. Worms rubber, Oreo cookies, pudding, peanut butter, raisins and celery were the ingredients used by children for the day prescription.

Five days was the breakfast and its importance. Monkey bread, pancakes and smoothies orange was the children's menu for breakfast.

The kitchen is one of the most important skills one has to learn, not only because you can cook any recipe you like, but also because people with skills in the kitchen is one of the most sought now.
