You may or may not be aware, but in February 2007, there was a recall of dog food which included many of the major brands of dog food. These foods had been mixed with melamine, a chemical industrial used to make low-quality wheat gluten and rice-based concentrate more nutritious. More than 5,300 pet food products were pulled from shelves the pets began to die across the country.
You should be aware that there are other ingredients in dog food that are not completely nutritious for pet. While the basic needs of your dog needs-just-do not offer nutritional and healthy diet. You can get a complete list, go to the food Dog for Life.
If you want to be 100% sure that you are feeding your dog the healthiest dog food, you can always do it yourself! Do not freak out, this is not as difficult as it seems. Dogs require natural ingredients, primarily meat because they have greater quantities of protein. We a list of some easy recipes, but they are completely nutritious easy to follow. Meat and potato
12 ½ cups potatoes, fragmented
3 pounds beef heart, chopped
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 cup zucchini, squash, carrots or peas
6 tablespoons of powdered dog
4 tsp bone meal (Check the label, there should be 1300-1500 mg of calcium per tablespoon. If not, adjust the amount you use accordingly.)
In a large pot, boil potatoes until soft. If you choose to cook the meat, pour half the water and add the chopped beef heart. Simmer until no longer pink. Add remaining ingredients. If you are feeding raw, Pour all the water after cooking the potatoes, and just add the heart of flesh with remaining ingredients.
Servings: Toy dogs: 1-2 cups, small dogs, 3-4 cups, Medium dogs: 6-7 cups, large dogs: 8-9 cups a day, giant dogs: 9 cups per day

Beefy Rice
2 ½ cups of brown rice
3 pounds ground beef (80% fat)
¼ cup oil supplement dog
1 cup zucchini, peas, cabbage, pumpkin or wheat grass (change from time to time)
6 tablespoons of powdered dog
4 tablespoons of bone meal (Check label;. Due 1300-1500 mg of calcium per tablespoon If not, adjust the amount you use accordingly.)
Heat 5 cups water in large pot until it begins to boil. Add the rice, turn the pot to simmer, and cover it. If you choose to cook the meat, add now and cook the rice. Once the rice is cooked, add remaining ingredients. If you are feeding raw meat will add at this time also.
Servings: Toy dogs: 1-2 cups and small dogs: 3-4 cups, Medium dogs: 6-7 cups, large dogs: 8-9 cups a day, giant dogs: 9 cups per day

Barking Barley Brownies
1 ¼ pound beef liver or chicken liver
2 cups wheat germ
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
1 cup cooked barley
2 eggs
3 tablespoons butter Peanut
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt – optional
Preheat oven to 350. Blend the liver and the tooth garlic in a blender, when smooth, add eggs and peanut butter. Blend until smooth. In a bowl, combine wheat germ, whole wheat flour and cooked barley. Add mixture to process the liver, olive oil and salt. Mix well.
Spread mixture in baking dish greased 9×9. Bake for 20 minutes or until. When cool, cut into pieces to accommodate the size of your dog. Store in refrigerator. or freezer.

The yogurt puppies
16 oz plain nonfat yogurt
¾ cup water
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
Dissolve bouillon in water, mix water and yogurt in blender and mix well, pour into small containers for freezing, cover and freeze.
